Brass & bronze check valve
GH-4005 Brass swing check valve
The swing check valve is engineered to prevent reverse flow in pipelines, safeguarding equipment and systems from potential damage caused by media backflow. Its operation relies on the dynamic pressure of forward-flowing media and counteracting resistance to control opening and closing. When media flows in the designated direction, the disc or flap opens under fluid pressure, allowing unimpeded passage. Conversely, during backflow attempts, the disc rapidly closes via gravity, spring force, or a combination of both, creating an immediate seal to block reverse movement.Designed for horizontal installation, this valve offers bidirectional sealing versatility with metal-to-metal seals or soft-seal configurations. Metal-sealed models utilize hardened alloys, high-pressure (16+ Bar) environments and abrasive media like steam or slurry. Soft-seal variants, equipped with elastomers (EPDM, NBR, or PTFE), excel in low-pressure systems and corrosive fluids such as chemicals or acidic solutions, ensuring zero leakage.
Key advantages include low pressure drop due to streamlined flow paths, minimal maintenance from robust brass or stainless steel construction, and rapid response to flow changes. Widely used in petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, and HVAC systems, the horizontal check valve provides reliable backflow prevention in both vertical and horizontal pipelines, adapting to diverse industrial demands while enhancing operational safety and system longevity.
